1 Peter 3:7

Peter now turns his attention to the husbands in wrapping up his powerful discourse on mutual submission in Christian marriage.  The Apostle calls the Christian husband to become a lifelong student of his wife, that he might be dialed into the distinctive and beautiful gifts that God has put into her, in order that ultimately, he would champion and encourage her to flourish in the unique way that God has made her.  Far from being domineering or condescending, a man tuned into biblical headship is a man that turns leadership into loving service.  Matthew Henry puts it this way.  “The woman was made of a rib from the side of Adam.  She was not taken from his head to rule over him, nor from his feet to be trampled upon  –  but she was taken from his side to be close to him, from under his arm to be protected by him, from near his heart to be loved by him.”  Get your Word on with us and elevate Jesus Christ at the center of our marriages!
